Between rue St Dominique and rue de l'Université (métro La tour Maubourg). Very small shop, truly one of the best bakeries in Paris, charming and very popular, every thing is excellent.
-Lionel Poilâne 49 boulevard de Grenellle, Paris 15th. (métro La Motte Picquet Grenelle)
Lionel Poilane exports his old fashioned bread as far as Japan. You can buy fresh bread made in Paris at the Treasure Island stores in Chicago every Thursday.

-Mariage Frères 30 rue du Bourg Tibourg (metro hotel de ville)
Located in the Marais, the oldest part of Paris, this small colonial shop and tea salon has 300 different teas. A must for tea lovers. They offer delicious brunches and light lunches. Try the Marco Polo tea, probably their most famous mix.
-Dalloyau, 2, place Edmond Rostand, 6th.(Luxembourg)

With no doubt the best pastries in Paris.
-Les petits Mitron, rue Lepic, 18th (Metro Place Blanche)
Very small shop on one of the busiest and most picturesque streets of Montmartre, one block away from the famous cabaret the Moulin Rouge. Their caramelized fruit tarts are amazing.
Best places to buy Chocolat:
-Michel Chaudun, corner of rue de l'Université et rue Malar, 7th (metro La tour Maubourg). One the best chocolate in the city located at one block from the bakery Poujauran.
-La bonbonière de la trinité, rue blanche, between rue St Lazarre and rue de la tour des dames on the right side of the trinité church, 9th
A special place for people with a big sweet tooth. I go there every time I am in Paris. You will find every sweet you can think of.
-Angelina's, rue de Rivoli, between rue de Castiglione and rue d'Alger.

Best overall food shopping experience
-Lafayette Gourmet, boulevard Haussman, behind the Opera Garnier. Located in the department store 'Galleries Lafayette' you will find every thing you want to prepare a good dinner. The visit is a pleasure in itself.
-Fauchon North east corner of the Madeleine plaza, off the Concorde plaza (metro Madeleine). It is to be the best caterer and fine grocery store in the city. Very pricey but you have to see their displays.

-Al Dar 8 rue Fréderic Sauton, 5th (Maubert-Mutualité) between rue Lagrange and Quai Montebello, across from Notre Dame church.

Very good Lebanese restaurant with a takeaway counter. Try the chicken sandwich with garlic. Very very good and cheap.

It is a Jewish-Eastern European institution in the Marais. Good heavy sandwiches.
-Lina's chain with stores everywhere. Very good American style sandwiches with a French touch.

Very large Parisian Brasserie where Americans in Paris used to gather in the fifties. A must for nostalgists.

Pricey and excellent, but definitely the best views of Paris. You need to reserve 2 months ahead.
